Southwest Florida is quite hot this weekend, so most of the wildlife is well hidden. I managed to get a few photos to share. A Swallow-Tailed Kite glided a little lower over our house and I was able to get a photo from a little closer than previous shots. They are such beautiful birds to watch.
The baby Osprey certainly isn't much of a baby any longer. It leaves the nest for flights now. But, the Mom still brings food for it. We haven't seen the Dad in quite a while, but Mom is on total guard duty.
These two young Yellow-Crowned Night Heron are growing and appeared to be out on their own today, taking it easy on a log in the water behind our house.
I'm not sure what is going on with his hairstyle, but I assume it has something to do with the beginning of his signature "Yellow-crown"!?
