Birds and gators at Ding Darling

We went through the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge on the island at low tide today.  It had been raining earlier, but had stopped for a short while.  We had driven about halfway through and had not seen anything to photograph.  However, we didn't have to leave disappointed at all!  As many times as we have been to Ding, we'd never seen a gator there.  Today, we saw two!

My husband spotted this guy in the water at the edge of the road.  He was probably 4 to 5 ft. long.

Just ahead, people had stopped to take pictures of this guy.  He was at least 6 ft. long and didn't look happy at all!

This Little Blue Heron posed while I took many pics!

This Yellow Crowned Night Heron was working hard to get the shell cracked on this crab.

Almost there!
