Happy New Year!
What better way to start the new year than with a walk on the beach on Sanibel Island? We had a glimpse of a dolphin near the shore, several birds, and lots of sponge that had washed onto the beach. Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
Just had a small glimpse of this dolphin. He seems to have been in a few fights since he has scars on his back and bites out of his tail fin.
Lots of different sponges had washed onto the beach today. I think they are unique and interesting to photograph.
This bird is a Magnificent Frigatebird. There were several over the water today, but this is as close as I could get to one, even with the long lens. It isn't the best pic, but thought I'd share.
And then back home to a beautiful butterfly.
